A referendum was held on 18th August 2016 when electors for the whole of Stroud parish were given an opportunity to vote on whether or not to accept the Shaping the Heart of Stroud Neighbourhood Development Plan. The result was a strong majority of 91% of votes in favour of the plan which will now move forward for adoption by Stroud District Council.

The full results of the referendum can be seen here.

Following the Examination in April the plan was modified to reflect the Examiner’s recommendations. It was approved by Stroud District Council’s Environment Committee at their meeting on 16th June 2016.
